See the Need
Photos from wells and water sources used by residents in and around Monrovia, Liberia — showing why IDWP's work is so urgently needed.
Below is a photo gallery of wells used by residents to fetch water within and around Monrovia. Due to the poor structure and materials used on these wells, they are often flooded by surface-running water, making them vulnerable to contaminants and diseases.
We hope that by viewing these photos you will understand the need of the people of Liberia and many parts of Africa, and why IDWP is striving to build better wells and reservoirs to provide clean and safe drinking water. Click any photo to enlarge.
About these images: Each picture shows how people in and around Monrovia obtain drinking and cooking water. From these pictures one can easily tell that some, if not all, of these wells are not safe enough for drinking. IDWP is working to replace these unsafe sources with proper pumps and clean water infrastructure throughout Liberia.
